Sarah Sondossi
Engagement Coordinator
As the Engagement Coordinator, Sarah supports program, grant, and scholarship administration and acts as the initial point of contact for public inquiries and program applicants.
With a B.A. in Behavioral Science from San Jose State University, Sarah began her professional career working in Human Resources and Accounting in the private sector. In 2018, she joined the Programs team at Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) a national multicultural and multidisciplinary nonprofit dedicated to achieving true diversity in the STEM fields. She was passionate about the mission and loved both the pace of the work and the direct, positive impact the organization's programs had on its members.
Sarah holds the belief that time is our most precious resource, and she would like to spend hers making a positive impact within her community. Having been raised in Santa Cruz County, Sarah is thrilled to serve the Community Foundation team and use her skillset – her eye for aesthetics, her mind for data and technology, and her affinity for project coordination – to do just that.
From facilitating programs that support community members to elevating impactful BIPOC-led and serving initiatives to bringing together resources for social issues and disaster relief, she is astounded by the scope of work being done at the Foundation and is inspired by the motivation her colleagues have to drive the Community Foundation mission forward. She is incredibly proud to be a part of such a passionate and caring team.
Sarah is a big fan of sketching, painting, yoga, supporting the local art scene, and consuming too much caffeine too late in the day. If she’s not out and about, she can usually be found enjoying life (and maybe streaming a show or two) with her partner, Xander, and their dog, Odin, at their home in the Santa Cruz mountains.
