Abbey Ohtake

Administrative Coordinator

As Administrative Coordinator, Abbey collaborates with the program and donor teams to ensure excellent service to donors and nonprofits through the timely processing of gift acknowledgments, database management, and support for the Foundation team. Her role is central to the Foundation’s work as an effective steward of philanthropic resources.

Raised in Soquel, Abbey has made a habit of working for local institutions. With over a decade of customer service experience, she is solutions-oriented and enjoys building lasting relationships with donors. After graduating from Mills College with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Abbey returned to Santa Cruz, working at Bay Federal for several years. For Abbey, no task is too small and there is always an opportunity to collaborate and learn.

The Foundation’s work is an exciting opportunity for Abbey to continue deepening her roots within the community. She believes that all folks who call Santa Cruz home should be able to feel a sense of belonging here. Outside of work, Abbey is a full-time accounting student at Cabrillo (for fun!) and enjoys cooking with her husband, Calvin, for her loved ones.
