Report to the Community
Rooted in this place we call home
Our experience working to improve Santa Cruz County dates back to the devastating floods of 1982 when our founders came together to coordinate local giving for local needs in the disaster's aftermath. Over forty years later, we continue to be a trusted partner to people interested in taking on the challenges of today and helping build a more just, equitable, and resilient tomorrow.
The proof is here, in these pages of our 2024 Report to the Community. You’ll see how we care for each other in Santa Cruz County—tackling one problem at a time, step by step, never alone.
2024 was the first year since 2020 that Santa Cruz County didn’t experience a federally declared disaster. Still, in the final week of 2024 we were called on to support suddenly unemployed wharf employees and displaced residents of the harbor. While we do extraordinary work in times of crisis, we were grateful to have added time throughout 2024 to listen to donors, nonprofit leaders, and others who care deeply about this special place.
Thank you for partnering with us to care for the place we all call home. Together, we are nurturing our resilient community. For good. Forever. Always.
Our collective giving made an enormous impact on our community, with nearly $38 million distributed across Santa Cruz County and beyond.
